I recently had the great honor of photographing a planners retreat alongside an incredible team including Nicole Alexandra Designs and California Wedding Day. Set against a picturesque desert mountain backdrop, this special event brought together the best of the best in the SoCal wedding industry at the prestigious Ingleside Inn in Palm Springs. A long rockstar list of vendors meticulously contributed to the celebration of creativity, culinary excellence, and enchanting performances.
I also have to give a moment to Emma from Leta Verbena and Jill from Layered Vintage, whose imagination knows no bounds. Throughout every corner of the event, guests were met with the most vibrant, whimsical, and elaborate arrangements one could possibly imagine. Glitzy disco balls added a funky, yet refined design to the cocktail hour space, perfectly complimenting Nicole’s tablescapes for the dinner tent. Every single vendor pulled this event off effortlessly, making every guest feel at ease in the space. (Check out the full vendor list at the end of this post!)
Without further ado, here are some of my favorite details from the Wedding Planners Retreat hosted by California Wedding Day:
It’s virtually impossible to be bored at a California Wedding Day event, and this planners retreat was no exception. Throughout the evening, entertainment included a a pair of fabulous butterfly dancers and a captivating synchronized swimming routine by the pool. Following the meal, a dazzling fashion display took place featuring luxurious gowns designed by Enzoani and jewelry by Margaret Rowe. Live music accompanied the entire evening provided by the skillful Moses Lin. As if that wasn’t enough, two mesmerizing belly-dancers-turned-fire-twirlers waltzed in to end the night, transporting us all to a realm of exotic beauty. As a special treat for the guests at the event, I decided to surprise them by setting up a pop-up portrait studio. I have long since been inspired by the glitz and candid glam of Oscar’s portraits and have wanted to recreate it for just the right occasion. Much to my delight, they turned out as perfectly as I could have hoped:
Due to the impending rain, the event utilized the fabulous event space of their sister property, Avalon Hotel. Dinner took place under an elevated outdoor tent that only complimented the tablescape design further. The retreat’s signature cocktail hour and four-course dinner menu was a culinary masterpiece, featuring engraved ice cubes by new age decor sculptors, Ice Bulb.
