Dreamy Lake Tahoe Destination Wedding | Jake + Emily

Jake and Emily stand in front of Lake Tahoe with a blue and pink sunset at their destination wedding

Couples- promise me if you ever get the chance to do a Lake Tahoe destination wedding that you’ll do it. Deal? Deal.

The largest freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Lake Tahoe sits over the border of Nevada and California and attracts over 15 million visitors each year. It’s the perfect destination wedding pick, offering rustic accommodations for outdoor lovers, and ritzy ones for those who just like looking at it.  Furthermore, a plethora of restaurants, bars, and breweries ensure guests are never bored. Jake and Emily dreamed of a wedding destination somewhere dear to their outdoorsy hearts, yet accessible for all their out of town family and friends…  so Valhalla Tahoe was the perfect place to gather all of their loved ones. The waterfront venue boasts of rustic Tahoe excellence with a lawn that stretches straight up to a private dock, towering ponderosa pines, and epic views of the mountains cascading into that emerald green lake.

Intentionally planned details included custom drawn stationary by a close friend and privately exchanged vows during the first look. Additionally, the tiara Emily wore was passed down from her late-Grandmother. Even the endless, wispy pines of the forest accented perfectly against the jewel toned florals. Typical for June weather in Tahoe, we saw sun, rain, and even snow all in the same day. However, as day bled into night, an unexpected pastel sunset splashed over our heads. It served as an epic reminder that enduring love is worth the journey.

A gorgeous summer day on Lake Tahoe, the wedding destination. The mountains have a thin layer of mist and there are pine trees lining the lake. A rustic cabin of Valhalla Tahoe is seen framed by pine trees. Emily stands by a window in her wedding dress. She touches foreheads with her mother wearing a blue dress. A black and white in front of a mirror. Custom stationary with outdoors themes with wedding details. Close up of the rings and venue key, adorned by flowers and greenery. The groom, Jake, opens a gift as he gets dressed. The bride and groom first look on the dock of Lake Tahoe at their destination wedding. The bride and groom exchange private vows. A beautiful Jewel toned floral spray at the ceremony. The ceremony nestled in the pine trees of Lake Tahoe. The bride and groom stand in front of their guests at the ceremony. Jake and Emily walk down the aisle of their Lake Tahoe destination wedding at Valhalla Tahoe. The wedding party poses on the deck over the lake. The bride and groom stand on the lawn outside Valhalla. A black and white of them smiling together. A close up of the bride's bouquet. A black and white of the groom. A barn shaped building behind large pine trees in Lake Tahoe. A close up of the sweetheart table at the reception. A wide shot of the rustic reception of the couple's Lake Tahoe destination wedding. The sun sets on Lake Tahoe, starting to darken the clouds. The couple holding hands and running down the dock, the bride smiles back. Romantic sunset shots of the bride and groom.
