We walked through the grass, chatting away about school, graduation, and the future. I complimented her on her jewelry choices, and we bonded over our ridiculous obsession with 31 Bits. “Buying jewelry to help empower women in Uganda… how could it get any better than that,” we laughed. That afternoon we were girls laughing, chatting, and marveling at how quick the transformation from girl to woman had been. Kelly and I grew up going to the same church…. and I graduated just a few years before she did. Even though we knew each other only from our teenage past, we got to spend the afternoon getting to know the more grown up version of each other.
Kelly just graduated from TCU, and is starting her masters degree in the fall. She really couldn’t be more excited! Not everyone who graduates college has as much conviction and motivation as she does. And I have to say that I’m pretty impressed. Wherever she ends up teaching, her students will be blessed. Her passion for education and her sweet smile have the makings for an amazing teacher. Here are my favs from the afternoon at Irvine Regional Park and the Orange Circle….
Look at Kelly’s SUPER cute addition of a 31 Bits necklace to her cowgirl hat!! Love it.
Thanks to Kristina, Kelly’s younger sister for playing stylist for us!
