They met through a podcast. He was the podcast personality and she was a dedicated subscriber who thought he was the bee’s knees. Through some connections of connections, they met and became fast friends, enjoying one another’s quick wit and sense of humor. He thought she was gorgeous, she was already smitten…. they started spending more and more time together. Their hangouts increased, and so did their love…. until one day last winter, he took her on a romantic hot air balloon ride, played her a song he wrote about their love. And betwixt the roar of the fire raising their balloon higher and higher over the rolling hills, he asked her to be his lovely wife forevermore. Of course she said yes… I mean REALLY…. Who wouldn’t say yes to that?
This is how TJ and Mikkele roll– in a ridiculously cute kind of soul mate love. The kind of love that sips coffee silently together enjoying the Saturday morning sun at their favorite Long Beach coffee joint, Lord Windsor. The kind of love that rides Linus bikes along the boardwalk holding hands at sunset. The kind of love that settles deep enough in their hearts to feel at home and fully alive in each others’ presence. They bring out the best in one another and it was SO fun documenting their engagement in Long Beach….. with bikes, and balloons… and a theramin. That’s right…. a theramin. Take a look at some of my favorites from the evening….. I think you’ll agree that TJ and Mikkele go together better than peanut butter and jelly.
TJ and Mikkele, thank you for choosing me to document your engagement. I had so much fun with you guys getting ambushed by european camera tourists, cats in dresses, and husbands on motorbikes… and and I love our newly minted friendship. Here’s to you, your wedding to come, and a lifetime of happiness with your best friend!
