I first met Connie at Billy Jack & Alissa’s Wedding. She was this incredibly sweet bridesmaid who struck me as the type of friend every bride should have…. supportive, excitable, and fun. We hung out all day as I photographed her friend’s event, and at the end of the night she confidently told me I would be photographing her wedding one day. In the last 5 years or so, we’ve seen each other at multiple weddings, and every time Connie’s greeted me with a giant smile, a hug, and a reaffirmation that her day was coming. I love that girl. 🙂

Well this past winter, I received the email we’ve both been waiting for… she had found the man of her dreams and he PROPOSED!! I’m not gonna lie…. I cried a little bit with a big fat smile on my face. I know every girl swoons at proposals and love stories, but I think God gave me an extra dose of love-crazy (ahem…appreciation) because I feel like my heart melts into a big puddle of happiness every time I get an email like Connie’s. There’s something moving and powerful about two people finding one another in this big world, something that causes orchestral resonation in my soul…. and somehow I got lucky enough to spend all my time documenting these love stories.

Matt and Connie are WONDERFUL together. He’s rowdy and fun-loving, and she’s sweeter than tea. And they love each other SO MUCH. You can see it when he steals glances at her when she’s not looking, and when she knows exactly what to say to make him laugh. You can see it in how much fun they seem to have together, and how they always want to be close. I got to spend a few days with them in St. Louis to take some engagement photos and we had a blast! We explored around the historic Washington University and Forest Park, and enjoyed some gorgeous spring weather. Here are some of my favorite images from the shoot….
