I finally have gotten around to blogging this wedding and boy has it been burning a hole in my pocket! Meeting Mike and Kristin was a dream come true. In Kristin’s preliminary email to me, she wrote, “Sami has been my best friend since we were in middle school! She has showed me your work for years and I’ve always thought how awesome it would be to have you shoot my wedding when the day came. Well, I recently got engaged and would love to see if you’re available!” Needless to say, I was over the moon thrilled, and as I got to know Kristin and Mike over the course of their engagement, I fell head over heels in love with the two of them. It wasn’t the fact that she had followed my work that got me…. it was their love for each other, and people that stole my heart. They’re the kind of people who invite you into their circle to laugh and chat, and feel included….. even on their wedding day. Their love for each other was intoxicating and I found myself brought to tears (more than the usual amount) with such joy that Mike and Kristin had found one another!
Their story is SOOOO romantic…. like chick flick romantic. By the grace of God, Mike and Kristin both chose to take athletic scholarships to Northwestern University and found themselves neighbors in their freshman dorm. He played football and she was a softball star. A few years down the college road, they went on their first date and have been smitten since then! Their love has taken them through the ups and downs of college athlete life, mission trips, long distance, and the wear and tear of intense majors. But through it all, they tied the knot this summer at the GORGEOUS Brookside Equestrian Center with all their family and friends there to celebrate with them. The details from this wedding were ADORABLE and were styled so great by Sami Cromelin and some of the Brookside staff! Here’s a recap of the day….Mike and Kristin, thank you from my bottom of my heart. Thanks for being so wonderful and for choosing me to document the most romantic day of your lives. Your photos tell the tale of two people madly in love with one another and deeply set on chasing after the heart of God. You were such a blessing to me this year, such an encouragement, and I can’t thank you enough!
