This year has been a very full and stretching year for my family and I. We started the year off getting our little kitten Hugo Flash, then he almost died, then he lived and now he’s as spunky as ever! My sister graduated with a BA in Dramatic Arts from Concordia University in May, and we took a family vacation to Kauai in June. Then, Christopher and I left for 3 weeks in August to Germany, Switzerland, and Austria to photograph Ralf and Anne’s wedding, Matthias and Alexandra’s wedding, and teach my very first ever workshop in Nuremberg! Whew! Then we moved, and Christopher started his 2nd year of teaching 2nd/3rd grade…. dad was in the hospital for a little (scared us half to death), and then we all regrouped and hugged around Thanksgiving.
After all of this, I felt we were due some family portraits to document our family, this period in our lives together, and also to have a bit of fun. Here are a handful of my favorites….
And the 2nd part of this post includes our yearly tradition of Christmas tree hunting. One year, I stood looking at a Christmas tree imagining what it must feel having all these humans looking into its leaves, poking and prodding it….. I imagined it must be a very embarrassing event for those poor trees. So we do a series of photos from the perspective of a Christmas tree…. see if you can guess what we’re all thinking in each frame!
From my crazy and wonderful family to yours, we wish you a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and we’re excited to see what 2014 holds.
