I was talking with someone recently about living our dreams and about our art. We talked about what our dreams are and were… and we talked about why we’re still hopeful. We talked about the personal liability there is as an artist…. putting our heart and soul into our work and allowing the masses to judge the beauty and integrity of it. Life seems to flow as a journey, a journey with uphill treks that break a sweat, and downward slopes we glide down with ease, but also plateaus that seem to go on forever with no change of pace. And with each change of scenery, we have the choice to be present and hopeful, or not. I recently got myself a little reminder of this constant I seem to forget often…. a Giving Key with the word “hope.” I got this to remind me that in the bountiful and fulfilling moments of life there is hope, in the questioning and dry moments of life there is hope, and during those times when there seems no end… there is also hope. There is always hope, and where there is hope, there is beauty to be found, documented and shared. Just thought I’d share…

The Giving Keys is an awesome organization that employs those who’ve been down and out and transitions them out of homelessness with employment creating custom key jewelry out of recycled keys. Once you’ve worn your giving key, it is meant to be given to someone else along your journey who needs the message written on it more than you do. To check them out, click here.
