Die Hochzeit von Matthias und Alexandra | Romantisches Hochzeitsfotografie von Nürnberg

Before I begin, I have to share that as I edited this wedding I probably did my happy dance about 3 times, squealed like a little school girl approximately 10 times, and I smiled so often my face began to cramp up. Soooo embarrassing, but it’s all true… just ask Hugo Flash, who was abruptly woken up from naps to witness all of this. Everything about this wedding was wonderful, and I feel so fortunate to have been asked to document it all!

It all started earlier this year when I announced I would be traveling to Germany to photograph Ralf and Anne’s wedding. Pretty much the same day, I got the sweetest email from Alexandra explaining that she would be getting married two weeks after Ralf and Anne and would do anything to have me as her wedding photographer. I mean…. how can you say no to that? She explained that her and her fiancé Matthias had their private civil marriage ceremony the year prior in the United States, but they were in the midst of planning their church wedding in which all their friends and family would be invited. You can imagine it took me all of a milli-second to say YESIWILLSHOOTYOURWEDDING! So we made plans, and on day of, I had the privilege of documenting their love AND making two new friends at the same time. Here are just a few of my favorites… I have so many!

How stunning is Alexandra?!! Jaw dropping gorgeous…. all these getting ready shots of her took about 20 min. tops, but you’d never tell with how calm she appears….

And a special shout out goes to Christopher for ROCKING the 2nd shooting that day!One of the things both Matthias and Alexandra were excited about most was the vintage 1960 Cadillac Coup DeVille they rode around in. The driver, who spoke very little english, knew enough to tell me that Marilyn Monroe had ridden in this particular car when she was alive and that’s why he bought it from America and had it shipped to Germany. Pretty cool huh?We made sure to make the most of the day with this incredible car….That night, a killer Rockabilly band took the stage for the live entertainment portion of the night. These German rockabillies knew their stuff and it was so surreal hearing them tear it up singing so many American classics. I’ve never enjoyed listening to Elvis’ music more than that night!
This was one for the record books and I still have to pinch myself to make sure this happened in real life and not just in my dreams. I’m so honored and blessed to photograph international weddings… and to now call these two friends. Matthias and Alexandra, all the best to you in your new life together. May God be seen starkly in your marriage and I pray the laughter and smiles I witnessed on your wedding day never fade.
