The first light of day creeps through the curtains and little bodies begin to stir at the sounds of early chirping birds. The smells of morning coffee waft in spirals, dancing with the whispers of good morning. Blankies are dragged and little hands find yours to hobble down the stairs. Activities and breakfast start soon thereafter because there are many toy cars and building blocks to get through before the daily morning walk. These simple (and, honestly… sometimes not so simple) mornings as a family often go overlooked and under-appreciated because, let’s face it, most parents’ cups runneth over– if you get my drift–and it’s all we can do to get everyone with all their things out the door on time without spilling anything on the work clothes. It’s easy to forget the magic of mornings.
For the Schneider family’s portrait session, we decided a simple morning walk through the field would be a perfect way to document their little family this year. With Ezra being four and Kolja a spry two year old, this crazy wonderful season moves quickly in every way. Here’s some favorites from the shoot….
