Nürnberg Fotografie Workshop

Nuremberg Photography Workshop, Nürnberg Hochzeit Fotografie

I never ever, not even once, dreamt I would one day teach photography. It’s not that I never wanted to, I just never thought anyone would want to learn from me. I know it sounds weird… like I have zero self confidence, but I really did think it would never happen. So you can imagine my reaction when I was asked if I would consider teaching a workshop in Nürnberg in between some weddings I was photographing over there. I’m still so amazed at how it all came together, and how this wonderful group of people from all around Germany and Switzerland traveled far and wide to come learn…. from me. So crazy!

We started with the basics and worked out way up. I channelled my beginner self from back in 2007 when I was first learning photography. We covered everything from aperture and shutter speed to controlling all of our cameras manually. It was the perfect small group setting to ask tons of questions, and really take the time to soak it all in. After the teaching part, we went outside in these awesome fields/forest where and practically learned to shoot in every lighting situation (direct sunlight, shade, backlighting, twilight, and artificial lighting). We used each other as models and practiced our posing while working on nailing our exposures.

I am SO proud of everyone! You guys really dug deep and struggled through it all until lightbulbs went on and you made connections. It’s no easy task to learn how to take photos intentionally….. again, SO PROUD OF YOU GUYS!

I’d also like to thank everyone who helped make this possible:
