Matt and Erin’s Romantic Julian Engagement

Cozy Romantic Cabin Engagement Photos, Julian Engagement Photos, Julian CA

When I think about a couple who inspires me, I think of Matt and Erin. Let me explain….. At our initial meeting, we chatted and looked at albums while we sipped our Hidden House coffee. I took inventory of how Matt and Erin interacted with one another and how our personalities all meshed. “Normal, fun, smart, cute…” Everything I could want in a couple to work with. We laughed about wedding planning do’s and don’ts, chatted about their jobs, and as I felt the conversation moving toward goodbye, Erin mentioned she’d be out of town the next few days for a race and would sign contracts when she got back. She didn’t want me to think she was ignoring me. (Aw…) I thanked her and said something about needing to go on a run myself…. then asked how long the race was, fully expecting something like a 10k or a marathon. She closed the album she was looking at and nonchalantly said, “46 miles.” (I don’t remember the exact number, but it was in the 40s….) I think they both noticed my eyeballs falling out of my head, because they chuckled a little and said they’d be running the race with a group of friends across Zion National Park. I fumbled to lift my jaw off the floor and find my eyeballs that had rolled somewhere on the table. FORTY SIX MILESSSSSS???! Goodness gracious! I DEFINITELY need to go on a run now….

I told you that big long story because I wanted to share how awesome they are. For real, they seem to amaze me a little more every time we talk. It wasn’t just their daunting choice of physical activities that wowed me…. I really admire how smart and funny, how deep, and how fun they are. I want to dig into life and relationships as much as they do!

Well, a few weeks ago, we shot their engagement photos at Matt’s family cabin up in the Julian mountains. It was a really cold day out, but the sun shone nicely through the trees and warmed us up a bit while we shot. It was so nice getting to know those two a little better and we had a lot of fun hiking around. Here are a few of my favorites from my afternoon with Matt and Erin….

Matt and Erin, I had so much fun hiking, talking, and sipping that “special” hot chocolate with you guys! I’m very much looking forward to your wedding this next spring! I hope you know much you both inspire me. 🙂
