Life at the Moment – Wedding Season 2012 Edition

Last I checked in with you all, I was reassessing my priorities, and making a concerted effort to document more of my life outside of work. Well, this is the update… the overview… and the assessment. I think I’d definitely give myself an A for effort, as it is wedding season and all. Here’s some snapshots I’ve been sharing with my friends on Instagram. If you aren’t a part of the Instagram community, you should try it out…. not only is it a great place to find inspiration, but its the perfect tool to document your own life, capturing moments and thoughts. (And, it’s not just for iPhone users…. it’s now available for Androids too….)

We moved at the beginning of May… and we’re finally moved in completely. We celebrated our birthdays, I spend 40+ hours a week editing and designing, and shot quite a few weddings and engagements in April-June. We had a few emergency hospital visits with family members that were a bit stressful, but thankfully, everyone’s alive and well still. I decorated my office to finally be a place where I feel inspired to sit all the time, and I’ve successfully read a few books from my list…. two of which, I highly recommend (Love Does, Bob Goff and The Hobbit, JRR Tolkien) I also started two different bible studies with two different groups of friends…. and even though it is a time requirement, it has been so good for me. I also discovered an iPhone app that puts cats in your photos…. and I’m obsessed. I think it’s SO FUNNY.

I’ve been trying to run more, and this week I’m picking it back up. Anyone want to run with me? I’ve also discovered the heavenly taste of what might be the best donut I’ve ever had in my life…. you can find them at Portola Coffee Lab… they’re Huckleberry donuts. Mah Gawsh, they’re good…. and they’re probably the reason I need to run more often. Christopher and I had the opportunity to see “Les Mis” at the OC Performing Arts Center a couple weeks ago and it’s changed Christopher’s life….. he sings his sentences instead of speaks them. Another crazy addiction I’ve developed is Peanut Butter frozen Yogurt from Pinkberry…. there’s nothing that compares. Aaaand I’ve opened an Insta Canvas gallery where anyone can order canvases of my Instagram photos… it’s pretty cool, I must say.

It seems like every weekend, I’m jam packed with shoots, but I’m LOVING IT! I’ve got so many weddings ready to blog, I’ve just got to sit down and crank them out for you…. that’s my next goal.

And finally, this past Monday was our first wedding anniversary! It’s so crazy to think that we’ve been married a WHOLE  YEAR already!! It’s a little unnerving how fast the time went, but I’m thankful to have Christopher by my side. He surprised me with a trip to Solvang for a few days and it was glorious. We explored, got much needed massages, road bikes around town, went wine tasting a few places, tried new restaurants, had some great conversations and coffee with friends, people watched, read the newspaper, and he even stopped by the side of the road so I could take a few photos. I could spend all my time with that guy… and I’m so glad he picked me to spend his life with!! I’m a lucky girl…

Until next time… live life, work hard, laugh more, enjoy every second you have with loved ones, challenge yourself in every way possible, learn something new, and do something to show a perfect stranger you care. I’m trying my best to do the same… we’ll reconvene soon.
