Jonathan and Regina’s Wedding

I am SO excited to share this wedding because… it was amazing…. and well, because I REALLY REALLY enjoyed working with Jonathan and Regina. When we first met, we got some coffee at my favorite Portola Coffee Lab in Costa Mesa. We got to talking, and it turned out that Regina and I had pretty much been in each other’s lives for YEARS without even knowing it. A little back story for you, my first job was lifeguarding for the City of Irvine. For about 6 years, I would see Regina everyday she came for Masters Nova Aquatics swim team and/or lap swim. I would say hi, check her in, and we’d go our separate ways. TRIPPY! So… needless to say, Regina and I both had a “whoa” moment as our coffee got cold. AAAAND…. to put the icing on the “perfect client” cake, she’s besties with Marsha, a bride I photographed in 2011 whom I love (1 pt J&R). For the rest of the meeting, the mantra “I hope they choose me…. I hope they choose me…” played in my head.

Well…. they chose me, and I’m SO GLAD they did. Their wedding was beautiful, intimate, romantic, and a lot of fun! Family and friends came from all over the world (many from Taiwan) to celebrate with them at the beautiful Tivoli Too in Laguna Beach. Their wedding took place at night, so the atmosphere was cozy and romantic. Here are my favorites from the evening….

Part way through the reception, Regina changed into this PERFECT red traditional Chinese dress…. and she looked STUNNING. I mean, my jaw dropped. What a beautiful couple… don’t you think?

The party ended with a line of cheering family and friends…. and bubbles. A perfect end to a perfect wedding! And real quick, I have to give a shout out to my dream team Christopher and Amanda for helping shoot, to Jacob Stein Videography for being an absolute dream to work with, to Julie from American Mobile Music for being one of the best DJ’s I think I’ve ever had the privilege of working with, and to the wonderful coordinators and catering at Tivoli Too. I appreciate all of your hard work so much!

A few weeks after their wedding, we met up again for a “Day After” shoot. Day After shoots are AWESOME because we aren’t rushed by a wedding day timeline, we aren’t limited to locations surrounding the venue, we can do it whatever time of day we wish, and it’s a fun way to keep the wedding romance and glamour going! I HIGHLY recommend choosing to day a Day After shoot…. especially if your wedding is at night, or if there isn’t enough time on your wedding day to get the amount of romantic photos you want.

Here are my favorites from the afternoon…. (seriously, it was SO hard to choose!)

Thank you, Jonathan and Regina, for choosing me to document your wedding. Thank you for trusting me and for including me in your story. I’m so blessed to know you… and I just know you two will change the world by how you love one another. You’re the power couple everyone wishes to be.
